Introduction
The Balanced Scorecard is globally renowned as a strategy execution tool. But to enable a strategy to be successfully executed requires that, in the first place, the strategy is:
1 Explicitly and measurably articulated with associated clear accountabilities
2 Cascaded throughout the organisation to align every member of staff and every
department/ unit to the overall business strategy - “making strategy everybody’s job”
The BSC provides an excellent tool to support the development and clear articulation of the business plan in a format that then supports subsequent rigorous performance monitoring – the latter being the classic use of the Balanced Scorecard. Put more simply – we should plan and then monitor in the same format and with the same KPIs.
This interactive workshop provides a step by step approach to using the BSC as a planning tool to help in developing a business strategy and to cascading that strategy throughout the organisation to strategic business units, department and, ultimately, to individual members of staff through the Performance Management concept.
Workshop Agenda
The overall aim is to align the BSC and the business plan by following a step by step methodology that facilitates the clear documentation of the strategic business plan and at the same time establishes the KPIs and associated performance targets of the BSC.
