Department Planning & Economy’s Services
Economic Planning:
Develop and execute the plans and policies for economic, social and commercial developments in Abu Dhabi.
Incubate and implement innovative ideas and special projects.
Research & Statistics:
Conduct research, statistics and population census, and provide information to internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with other entities on development of statistics and research.
Marketing & Promotion:
Promote the export of Abu Dhabi goods and services.
Market Abu Dhabi as an ideal city to conduct business and attract investments.
Organize and participate in economic and commercial events and conferences.
International Trade Support:
Support in the development and negotiation of Free Trade Agreements.
Monitor implementation of trade laws and agreements.
Consumer Protection:
In conjunction with the Ministry of Economy; protect consumer interests through development and implementation of mechanisms and tools to monitor commercial fraud, trade marks, prices, etc.
Commercial Licensing:
Regulate and manage the trade licensing process in Abu Dhabi for all types of businesses.
Economic Policy & Regulation:
Publish legislations and regulations to improve economic performance.
Coordinate with federal and local agencies for the development and implementation of legislations.
Local Business Support:
Promote Abu Dhabi businesses and assist them with international transaction by providing research, precise information and advise.
