In 24 years of service in the United States Army, Wesley K. Clark rose to the rank of four-star general as NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander, Europe. Since retiring from the military in 2000, he has taken on the roles of investment banker, author, military analyst and businessman.
In his final military command, General Clark commanded Operation Allied Force – NATO’s first major combat action, which saved 1.5 million Albanians from “ethnic cleansing” in Kosovo. He was also responsible for the peacekeeping operation in Bosina.
Clark will demonstrate his expertise and scholarly background to relate world events to current business strategies. He has been on the front line of the world’s emerging markets, intimately aware of the political strategy and psychology that dictates corporate bottom lines. General Clark is Chairman and CEO of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, a strategic advisory and consulting firm he started in 2003. He is also Vice Chairman of James Lee Witt Associates, homeland security, business continuity and disaster mitigation; and Chairman of Rodman and Renshaw, an investment bank in New York and London.
In his role as Commander-in-Chief/US Southern Command, General Wesley Clark was responsible for all US military activities in Latin America and the Caribbean. From April 1994 through to June 1996, he was the Director of Strategic Plans and Policy/J-5 in the Joint Staff, where he helped negotiate the end to the war in Bosnia. His previous assignments include a wide variety of command and staff positions, including Command of the 1st Cavalry Division.
General Clark’s honors include: the Presidential Medal of Freedom, State Department Distinguished Service Award, US Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medal (five awards), US Army Distinguished Service Medal (two), Silver Star, Bronze Star (two), Purple Heart, and Honorary Knighthoods from the British and Dutch governments.

Clark is the author of the best-selling book “Waging Modern War: Bosnia, Kosovo and the Future of Combat” and “Winning Modern War: Iraq, Terrorism and the American Empire”. His latest book, “A Time to Lead: For Duty, Honor, Country” is a bestseller.
Born in Chicago and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Clark distinguished himself early as an athlete and a scholar, leading his high school swimming team to state championship and graduating first in his class from West Point. In 1996, he was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University, where he earned a Masters Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
